SUBJECT 12 - Mass Transportation through PNR Digitalization

Mass Transportation Shortage has always been the reason why the sudden surge in Car Ownership happened thus making the streets more crowded than ever before. It is one of the core problems of heavy traffic occuring in the Metro.

Aside from MRT Lines 1, 2, 3 and LRT Lines 1 and 2, The Philippine National Railways delivers Mass Transportation to the public. Easy access from Tutuban to Bicol (limited trips), low cost fare, comfortable seats and fast transit but there's this problem; Ticketing, Time Management and Old approach on Communication from stations.

What shall we do about it?

Go digital. Use Technology to come up with ideas on how to adept with thousands of commuters using the PNR making it accessible and simple to use.

Through Technologically approach on Ticketing. Why not make paying for the ticket as cashless as it can be? Just like with what the RFID has done, create a Mobile Application wherein all those who are using the PNR will download through their mobile phones, load and use it to pay for the tickets. Long lines awaiting to take the train will lessen and the process will be much faster than what we are doing now. We also have train marshalls on board,why not trained them to use by scanning the bar codes created by the application when paying for the ride? Through this, the Pnr can make sure that all those who are on board are paid thus generating an income.

By Time Management, the shchedule of the Train's Arrival and Departure will be visible on the Mobile Application's Home Page to make sure that the passengers will be able to get at the station on time making it more accommodating for the transit.

We need more Mass Transport now and by using the Technology on our advantage will help our commuters on their journey and will lessen the Traffic Problems that is happening.
